- Upload tracks you own the rights to
- Share and play uploaded tracks in the app or on the web
- Add a cover image to personalize your tracks
- Edit track details, like title, artist name, and release year
- View listener and play stats when you share your music
We’re just getting started – expect more updates to Upload’s functionality soon!
How do I upload a track?
- Tap the Upload icon (⬆) in the bottom navigation bar
- Tap the Add icon (+)
- Select the file you want to upload
- Your track will appear under Your uploads and will remain private until you choose to share it
How do I edit track details and add a cover image after uploading?
After uploading, your track will appear on the track list page. To add a cover image or edit details like the title, artist name, or release year, tap the more menu (…) next to the track.
Are there any limits on file size or number of uploads?
Each track can be up to 5GB in size, and users can upload up to 200 tracks. However, there’s no overall storage limit. These limits may change as we continue improving the feature.
Does the music that I upload earn royalties on TIDAL?
No, your uploaded files do not earn royalties.
SHARING UPLOADS
Are my uploaded tracks public by default?
Yes. By default, uploaded tracks are set to Share on TIDAL, which makes them visible on your profile and searchable by others. If you want to keep a track private, toggle off Share on TIDAL before uploading.
How do I share uploaded tracks with others?
Tap the three dots next to your track and select "Copy link", or use the “Share link” option to send it through other apps. Anyone with the link can listen. If you share a track with a TIDAL user, it will appear in their Saved uploads under Collection.
Do people I share my track with need a TIDAL subscription to listen?
No, they don’t. Anyone with the link can listen, whether they have a TIDAL subscription or not. They will need a TIDAL subscription to save the track to their TIDAL collection.
UPLOAD COPYRIGHT AND RIGHTS MANAGEMENT
What am I allowed to upload?
You are allowed to upload material for which you own and control all necessary rights.
What am I not allowed to upload?
You can’t upload any third party copyrighted material.
My uploaded content has a copyright flag on it, how can I appeal it?
If your track was detected to contain third party copyrighted material, you won’t be able to publish it to TIDAL or share it with others. If you believe your track was incorrectly flagged, please reach out to TIDAL Support to file a dispute (select "I want to file an appeal of a TIDAL Upload copyright flag" from the violation type dropdown menu). Uploading any of the following may result in a copyright issue:
- Covers of works by other artists
- Content controlled and/or exclusively distributed
- Samples from copyrighted material
- Remixes of copyrighted material
I received a DMCA notice, how do I file a counter-claim?
If you received an email that your content has been taken down due to a DMCA notice, you can file a counter-claim here. The person who originally uploaded/distributed the content will have 10 business days to respond before we reinstate your content.
UPLOAD TROUBLESHOOTING AND SUPPORT
Why can't I update my public profile name? It keeps switching back to my artist name.
We no longer separate artist and listener accounts, so your artist name will also now be reflected as your name on your public profile.
How do I report an inappropriate file shared with me?
We expect all shared content to be respectful. If that isn’t the case, please let us know by clicking the “Report” action for the inappropriate track in the Saved uploads section of Collection in the TIDAL app (while logged in), or by reaching out to TIDAL Support.
Who do I contact for help with Upload?
If you have any questions, need assistance, or want to share feedback, please reach out to TIDAL Support.
