What is Tidal DJ?
Tidal DJ is an add-on available to Individual and eligible Student plan subscribers. It provides access to stem separation (availability varies by partner) and over 180 million songs on DJ hardware and software.
How much does Tidal DJ cost?
Tidal DJ costs an additional $9 USD per month (plus applicable sales tax for US subscribers). This amount is in addition to your regular monthly subscription cost.
Is there a free trial for Tidal DJ?
New Tidal subscribers who subscribe to a Tidal plan with Tidal DJ will receive a 30-day free trial for the full experience.
If I'm on a 30-day free trial of Tidal (Individual or Student), can I add Tidal DJ without reducing my trial time?
Yes, you can add Tidal DJ to your Tidal Individual or Student plan during the free trial without reducing the remaining time of your trial period.
How do I add Tidal DJ to my existing Tidal Individual or Student plan?
Existing Tidal Individual or Student plan users can add Tidal DJ to their plan by navigating to account.tidal.com. When you add Tidal DJ to an existing subscription, it activates immediately. We calculate the time and money remaining on your current subscription and apply it to your new subscription, adjusting your billing date accordingly. You'll see this new billing date reflected immediately on your account page.
Is stem separation available with Tidal DJ?
Yes, Tidal DJ provides access to stem separation on DJ hardware and software. Availability varies by partner.
Availability and Access
Is Tidal DJ available on the Family plan?
No. If the main account owner wants access to DJ integrations, they must subscribe to a Tidal Individual or Student plan with Tidal DJ. Family members will then need to choose a new Tidal Individual plan or join a different Family plan, as Tidal DJ is not available with Family plans.
Why can't I add Tidal DJ to my Tidal subscription if my account is registered through Apple or Google?
Tidal DJ can only be added to your subscription if your Tidal account is registered directly with Tidal. Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to add Tidal DJ if your account is registered through Apple or Google. If you’d like Tidal DJ, you’ll need to cancel your subscription through Apple or Google and subscribe directly through Tidal.
I'm a DJ but haven't added Tidal DJ to my subscription. Can I still access DJ integrations?
No, Tidal DJ is required to enable DJ playback. Without it, you'll encounter a playback error message when trying to use Tidal with your DJ setup. To access DJ integrations, please visit account.tidal.com and add Tidal DJ to your Tidal subscription under an Individual or Student plan.
Can I add Tidal DJ to my existing subscription?
Yes. You can add Tidal DJ by navigating to account.tidal.com. When you add the DJ extension, it activates immediately and we adjust the remaining time in your current billing cycle. We take the value of the unused time on your existing subscription and apply it toward your updated plan with the add-on. Since the your new plan will have a higher price, the number of days left in your current billing cycle may be reduced to reflect that difference.

I’m new to Tidal. How do I sign up for a Student plan with Tidal DJ?
To add Tidal DJ to a new Tidal Student plan, eligible students can follow these steps:
- Visit Tidal.com: Sign up for a Tidal Student plan.
- Select Tidal DJ Option: During the sign-up process, select Tidal DJ as an add-on to your Student plan.
- Verify Student Status: Ensure your student status is verified. This may require providing proof of enrollment or other necessary documentation. More information on SheerID verification can be found here.
- Choose Tidal DJ: In the product selector, choose Tidal DJ as an add-on to your Student plan.
- Complete Payment: Tidal DJ costs an additional $9 USD per month (plus applicable sales tax for US subscribers). Review the total cost, including the Student plan fee of $5.49 USD/month (+ applicable sales tax), and complete the payment process.
- Confirmation: Once the payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email, and Tidal DJ will be activated on your account.
How do I remove Tidal DJ from my Student plan?
You can remove Tidal DJ by navigating to account.tidal.com. The change will take place at the end of the current billing cycle, and you will retain access to Tidal DJ until that time.
Do students need to re-verify their status to keep Tidal DJ?
Yes, students must re-verify their status with SheerID every 12 months to maintain the student discount for their plan and Tidal DJ.
What happens if my student verification lapses?
If your student verification lapses and you do not re-verify, you will be moved to a Tidal Individual plan plus Tidal DJ upon your next billing cycle. This means you will no longer receive the student discount and will pay the regular price for your plan and Tidal DJ.
