Creating a New User Profile
- On the profile page during setup, select Continue and enter your profile name. Profile names are public and can be changed at any time.
- Select Continue.
- To publish any of your playlists publicly, check the circle next to the playlist and select Publish. If you don't want to make a playlist public, select Done.
Editing Your User Profile Name and Picture
- Go to your Collection in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the header icon in the upper right corner to access your profile.
- Select Edit.
- You can change your profile name or import a profile picture from Facebook, TikTok, or Snapchat. Note: Images from other sources cannot be uploaded.
- To remove your profile picture, select Edit Profile, tap the trash can icon next to your profile picture, and confirm by selecting Remove when prompted.
Discovering User Profiles and Playlists
- Searching User Profiles: Subscribers can search for profile names on the Search page and filter by Profiles using the filter bubbles below the search bar.
- Sharing a Profile Link: On the profile page, tap the share icon in the upper right corner and choose Copy Link to copy the link to your clipboard.
Managing User Playlists
- You can find profile names beneath playlist titles. To add a public playlist to your collection, tap the heart Add icon.
- When creating a new playlist, choose to make it public or keep it private. To make an existing playlist public, select the lock icon in the playlist options menu and confirm in the pop-up menu.
Following Profiles
- On your profile page, select the Followers link to see who is following you, or Following to view the profiles you follow. To unfollow someone, tap Following.
- To find friends and family, search for their profile name, use their profile link, or locate their playlists by selecting their name beneath the playlist title. To add their public playlist to your collection, tap the heart Add icon.
Blocking Content or User Profiles
If you would like to remove a playlist due to explicit content, you can unfollow or block a user by following the steps below. You can also control the content you listen to by blocking a specific artist or song or disallowing explicit content.
Block a user:
- Go to the user’s profile page that you want to block
- Select the three-dot icon next to the user and click Block
- Select Confirm
- You will see a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen that the user has been successfully blocked.
- When you block someone, both users automatically unfollow each other. As a result, neither user can see or access the other’s profile or playlists or appear in search results.
Unblock a user:
- Select the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of your TIDAL Profile
- Go to Settings -> My Content -> Blocked and select Profiles to access your list of blocked users.
- Select Unblock next to the user you want to unblock.
- You will receive a pop-up. Select Confirm. You will see a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen that the user was unblocked. You must manually follow each other again after the unblocking was performed.

There is no requirement to make any part of your profile contents public, including playlists. Beyond adding a profile name, you do not have to participate in the functionality profiles provide. If you have questions about privacy on TIDAL, please consult our Privacy Notice.
